Session options include 30-minute, 1-hour, and extended lengths, perfect for everything from individual family sessions to larger groups or special events.
Where do you usually shoot family sessions in San Diego?
San Diego offers a stunning variety of backdrops for family photography, from coastal cliffs to vibrant gardens. I work with families throughout the region, including Encinitas, Carlsbad, La Jolla, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Rancho Santa Fe, and Coronado, to find the perfect location that reflects their style and personality. I also offer in-home sessions, capturing your family in the comfort of your own space.
How far ahead should we book our family session?
Booking 4 weeks in advance is best to secure your ideal date, especially during busy seasons like spring and fall. Weekend spots tend to fill up quickly!
When’s the best time of day for outdoor family photos?
The time just before sunset, known as golden hour, offers a warm and dreamy light that is absolutely beautiful. Morning sessions have their own charm, with crisp and gentle light that creates a calm and natural feel. If your little ones are early risers, mornings can be an ideal choice. Midday is also a great option. By shooting in shaded areas, we can still achieve beautiful images with soft, even lighting.
What should we wear for our family photos?
Soft neutrals, earthy hues, and seasonal tones photograph beautifully. Aim for coordinated styles that complement each other, and wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident.
Can we bring our dog (or other pets) to the session?
Absolutely, they are part of the family! Just give me a heads-up, so that I can plan the location and timing accordingly.
Do you offer seasonal specials?
Yes! I offer limited specials a few times a year, usually in the spring and fall. Follow me on Instagram or join my email list to be the first to know.
What happens if it rains on our scheduled date?
No worries! We’ll reschedule at no extra cost. I always keep a few backup dates open just in case the weather doesn’t cooperate.
When will we get our edited photos back?
Your final gallery will be ready within 2 weeks. If you need them sooner, rush delivery is available.
